I just found this on the top of my blog comments page and have no fucking idea what it means!

European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies used on your blog. In many cases, these laws also require you to obtain consent.

As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies, including use of Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.

Is blogger adding cookies to my web page - is there something I am suppose to do?

What the fuck?

  1. Don't worry; it's legit. You don't have to do anything and you'll never even see the notice they're talking about, nor will any visitor to your blog who isn't from the EU (they only show it to EU visitors).

Cookies are snippets of code that track users' information, and they're built into a whole bunch of tools, including Blogger. Blogger is just covering their asses to comply with the EU regulations regarding cookies, even if your site doesn't actually use cookies at all.

Keep calm and blog on... :-)

COMMENT: Ben Franklin said, "I imagine a man must have a good deal of vanity who believes, and a good deal of boldness who affirms, that all doctrines he holds are true, and all he rejects are false."
