The proud coal miners, and the destruction to both men and land by money grubbing coal executives is a real memory. But it wasn't just then - it still goes on and is still recorded in the music of today.

ReplyDeleteYou are right of course. The struggle to rein in the worst of human nature is an endless task. That we are still here in my opinion has not much to with accumulating knowledge and technology; rather it is more a stroke of luck we haven't offed ourselves yet. At some point, we will be forced to confront our own stupidity or die because of it.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the coal mining towns but I have seen the copper mining towns in AZ. Sad.
