For decades
the Republican Party has placated Christian fundamentalist with platitudes and
promises they had no intention of acting on.
The same can be said for the gun owners and militia obsessed – the Party
found it easy to vote down gun restrictions and give them lip service. They have also played to the racial prejudices
of the white southerners.
As a result,
the Republican Party, the party of the wealthy and privileged, for years was
able to manipulate these groups and lock in their vote.
Then
something happened in 2008 when a black democrat was elected President of the
United States. The Republican rank and
file encouraged the hitherto silent majority of their party – the far right radicals
and wingnuts – to organize and to become a vocal, visible, angry demonstration –
the Tea Party – against what they viewed as liberalism gone too far.
The thing
that the GOP did not count on was their inability to put the genie back in the
bottle.
Once embolden,
the inmates took over the asylum. In 2012 the Tea Party Republicans fielded a
clown car of wing nuts to run in that presidential election. This year the leader of the Republican Party
may end up being Donald You’re Fired Trump.
It is their
Frankenstein monster and “It’s Alive.”

D.H. Hugley was on the view this morning and said "Donald Trump winning the presidential election is like Flavor Fla winning a spelling bee...nuff said.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite possible that Hugley is right. People don't particularly want a woman, Democrat, or Clinton in the White House. Hell, I'll go with Sanders.
ReplyDeleteOB,
ReplyDeleteSarge is back at River City Patriot on blogspot and you are absolutely correct. John Kasich is the only Repealican that raises and eye brow with me.
Oh, Darrel -aka The Yellow Fringe called me and he will be in town Saturday evening . At least I got a 36 hour notice this time...
Visit me on the new blog. No skin; or even pictures; just politics...

The billionaires think they have control of the Tea-Baggers, but not really. It may look like the Tea-Baggers were a grass-roots thing, but it was co-opted by the rich think tanks. The thing the Reich-Wing didn't count on was who got elected, turned out most were fundamentalists who don't give a shit about anything other than their interpretation of their book.
ReplyDeleteThe national Tea-Bagger groups did manage to divert attention away from Wall Street and the banks and towards the poor and the "other"!!
well put - this next Presidential election has me concerned - over the last few years I've voted for the candidate I felt would do the least amount of damage (I'm an Independent) - going to be hard this time. If Trump wins, I may retire to Canada.
