WIND CHILL CHART
Today the temperature is seventeen degrees with a wind of twenty to twenty-five knots; about minus three degrees windchill.
I have posted a windchill chart before, but thought I would put it up again as this is the season....

It was an early Feb morning in northern Minnesota (by Bemidji). It was sunny & there was no wind, a nice morning. It had been 10+ days of subzero temps for the highs.
ReplyDeleteI was out on the front porch in my tee shirt, the sun felt good! I spread my arms wide and said so!
Then I looked over at the thermometer on the shed, it was one of those large round analog thermometers, easy to read in the daylight. It showed one degree above zero.
+1 & I thought it was finally a good day...
I went into the house & told my wife what happened and said I was ready to go back to the west coast...
By late August of 2003 we were on the beach in Washington state.
That ended our 13 year vacation in the upper midwest.
I do not miss sub zero temps....
When I was in the Air Force the wind chill charts had chill factors. 1 2 3 4 There were explanations stating how quickly flesh freezes at the different chill factors. Haven't seen any like that since I got out in '70.
