  1. We have a Health Care Industry that uses over 17% of our GDP (#1 in cost) and gives us way down the list (#47) quality.
That's a LOT of money being made by an industry & treating it like fire, police or roads would cut way into that.

We have a court system that said Corporations have civil rights just like people... we are not going to do anything to mess with Medical Industry corporate profits.

Look at the big picture.. a hand full of Saudi's take down the WTC & kill 3,000 Americans... we attack Iraq & Afghanistan with a great deal of rage (that was a generation ago). That was over 3,000 dead Americans.
But when the American Medical Industry allows 40,000 Americans to die every year because they can't afford the Medical Industry's product... no one cares.

The Medical Industry can't be messed with... Won't be messed with!

  2. Changing the medical system in the U.S. would be like cleaning up an oil spill the size of the pacific ocean in one day. It just can't be done. Too many people are set in their ways. If it does happen it will have to be slowly state by state and even then Republicans would make it fail.

  3. It has to happen if we are to remain a civilized country, but it will be long after we are gone. If at all.

  5. OB:

The number of folks who are opposed to national, fair, equitable health care in the United States for all shocks me. I have never understood how people can think it is fair that your health care depends on the job you have and what your boss(es) reluctantly will dole out to you. Why and how people would gravitate towards such a system as we currently have is beyond my understanding.

We need Universal Health Care for ALL in our country, and we need it now!
