U.S. student
arrested in North Korea for stealing a propaganda poster gets fifteen years’
hard labor.
This is
another Darwin intervention. The actual
reason the man visited Korea has not been published, but he stated he stole the
poster to hang in a church.
Fundamentalist
Christians have been traveling to many third-world and hostile countries as ‘Christian
ambassadors’ and I suspect this is the case.
However, traveling
to a country that hates and vilifies American – a country that has draconian
rule and laws, and while there stealing a state propaganda poster does not place
you high on the Darwinian survival scale.
A prime candidate for a Darwin Award.

Our news said he was traveling with a group tour but it didn't mention what kind or whether Christian fundamentalism was involved. Even so, I feel bad for the poor bugger. "15 years hard labour" means exactly that in North Korea.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel bad for anyone who does something stupid while in a foreign country and expects to get off scott free for his actions. His stupidity started when he crossed the border into North Korea. I just hope the U.S. doesn't bail him out, but I have a feeling we will.
ReplyDeleteWTF was he thinking?
ReplyDeleteyou stick your head in the lions mouth? getting yo'head bit off.
