A BUDDHIST PERSPECTIVE ON ANOTHER TRUMP PRESIDENCY

 

I haven’t watched the news since Donald Trump won the election.  Have I missed anything?   I think not.  I know I haven’t missed my morning shot of aggravation with Morning Joe.

 

The Buddha taught that life is chaos, but everything is impermanent and will pass.   Many, if not most, things are out of our control.  Focusing on things we cannot control brings stress into our lives.

 

We are the cause of our own dissatisfaction. 

 

We are creatures of modicum intellect, living in a meaningless world. We should not squander our precious time on this earth focusing on the chaos that our species causes in this world,  but instead focus on the beauty around us in the time we have.

Donald Trump will pass, I will pass, you will pass.

MSNBC MORNING JOE

Turning on Morning Joe this morning (Dec. 26, 2018) I felt like I had mistakenly accessed the Christian TV Network. 

Joe makes no secret that he is a fundamentalist; but he doesn’t seem to realize that proselytizing with his continual dialogue about Jesus and Bible quotes is a turn off for Jews, Muslims, Buddhist, atheist and agnostics.  

We are a nation of a mixture of ethnics and beliefs and Joe Scarborough would do well for his audience to stick to the news and hold his religious comments for his home and church.

Donald Trump

He’s the man

If he can’t do it

No one can.

Rah rah ree

Kick him in the knee

Rah rah rash

Kick him in the other knee.

I support the Donald 100%.   He is the best thing that could happen - for the Democratic Party.

 

If it wasn’t for Trump the airways would be full of Benghazi and E-Mail Gate and Bill getting a blow job in the oval office and Hillary a murderer and …; also, minute to minute 24/7 attacks on President Obama.

But now, all the Republican’s running for office are playing duck and cover from Trump.  The party doesn’t know what to do with him, and is afraid to confront him. 

Hillary’s e-mails are a back page issue for the media while The Donald is running away with the Republican Party.
