VOTING DAY NOVEMBER 3rd.

It is off season, off track voting day here in western Maine.   My wife and I were talking about it last night.   Young people tend not to vote:   they are too busy and not particularly interested.   For the young, voting falls someplace beneath getting laid, getting drunk, getting married, having kids, working to make ends meet…

I hate to admit it but I didn’t vote until I was almost forty…getting laid, drinking, hell raising, military deployments…    and my wife was almost thirty before she voted: just living life seemed too complicated to worry about politics – which everyone knows you can do nothing about anyway.

We vote now.   It comes with age.   Though I am still not convinced that it solves any problems.  I always vote for the less objectionable politician.   (Obama was the exception: I really liked him).   But, the government is so packed with politicians whose only aspirations is to remain in office at all cost – that the best you can do is to hope that the less objectionable party remains in control.

Politicians spend the majority of their time raising money to finance their campaigns to convince you to vote for them.  Their allegiance is to the wealthy donors, and not to the voters.     The title Senator and Congressperson is as close to a royalty class as there is in this country – and politicians will say anything and vote anything in order to secure their position.

The government has always been an oligarchy disguised as capitalism and run by the wealthy overlords, and it will always remain an oligarchy.

‘We The People” (us) are only duped into believing that we have some control on the outcomes.   Bush became President, though he did not win the popular vote.   Congress is full of gerrymandered Congress Persons.  To say the system is rigged is a fair conclusion.

Political parties vie for control by placating and manipulating their selected demographics.   Then when they get in office the party serves the overlords and the politicians live to secure their own positions.

A government “Of the people, for the people and by the people” can only exist in a utopian socialist world.   Of course, true socialism can’t exist because the people in charge would vie for power and fuck it up.

I will go down and vote today, because that gives me the right to complain.

Either way, we will inherit the wind.

MY SHIT DOESN’T STINK – TOO BADLY

We are all of the same mentality, and the fact is we do get use to our own stink.

When we first got to Alaska my wife and I both smoked.   The Native kids would come over to the house and tell us ‘your house stinks.’   Native kids are refreshingly unabashed - they say what they think.

Our house was always clean, and at first we were somewhat resentful; because when we visited the Native houses there would be dried, smoked salmon on the counter, a chunk of moose quarter sitting on the floor in a cold corner of the room and perhaps muskrats being skinned in a tub in the kitchen floor.

It is the same thing in politics: our own opinions are reasonable and everybody who doesn’t agree with us is actually stupid or else conniving – looking out for themselves at the expense of others.

So where does that leave us?

I actually do believe that most people that vote Republican are on the down side of the IQ scale – or looking out for their own personal interest at the expense of others.

I know that what I think is true, because my shit doesn’t stink as much as everybody else’s.

I HAVE SEEN IT ALL BEFORE

Last week on Real Time with Bill Maher Bill did a monologue about age; he said America is one of the few countries that does not venerate the aged.   He went on to say that old people are smarter than young people because they have seen it all before.

PETER JOHN
Traditional Chief of Koyukon Athabaskans
RIP

Having lived for twelve years in Indian, Yup’ik and Inuit villages of Alaska I can relate first hand to cultures that venerate elders.

I can also agree that every individual is smarter as an elder than he or she was in their younger years; but, if you were an ignorant young person, and ignorant middle age person, you are probably going to be an ignorant old person.   It’s all relative.

I am an elder - and I am one hell of a lot smarter in my old age than I was as a young person; but, that is not saying much – again it is all relative.

I have never claimed to be a sage old owl, but just an Ol’Buzzard that has soared in the air currents and sat on tree limbs and rocky crags and watched – and now I remember.

Any opinions I have are naturally biased as they have been filtered through my personal experiences, likes and dislikes, prejudices and intellect (or lack thereof) during my seventy years+++ of chaos.

As an elder I look at the current state of affairs and am not particularly concerned.  I have seen this all before: war, social ills, prejudice, bigotry, confusion, dysfunctional government, politicians motivated by selfish avarice, ignorance and religious fervor.

The one thing I can say for sure is that we never learn and we will do it all over again: we are destine to perform the same play, slightly modified to time and place, and with different actors – but with the same outcome.

ADVICE FROM AN ELDER
Don’t despair - there are things you can do: get a nice bottle of wine, enjoy a good meal, have sex with your significant other and chill out.

A ZEN STORY

The Buddha replied, “First remove the ‘I’ that is ego.   Then remove the ‘want’ that is desire.   Now you are left only with happiness.”

WHY BOTHER - POLITICAL APATHY

I have decided to quit listening to Chris Matthews on MSNBC.   Up until this week my wife and I would tune into Chris while we ate supper.   After his program I always feel like lowering my head and charging into the wall.

And what for?

Why get wound up over something I have absolutely no power to change – and change to what?   The reality is that I have no option but to live through political changes I have no power to influence.

I do not have money enough to buy my Senators and Congress Persons…    Presidential elections are decided not by my vote but by an electoral college appointed by political parties; and as far as a popular vote, it is obvious that that can be, and is being manipulated on a state level by these same political parties.

And even if my vote did count; a small, organized, vocal minority - the Republican minions (also known and the Tea Party and the Christian Fundamentalist – people who are capable of believing that Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin are intelligent choices to govern us) can influence one of the only two viable political parties we have as a choice to the shithouse rat crazy extremes – which in turn can be manipulated by the billionaires whose actual goal is to establish an Oligarchy..

(Wow what a fucking sentence!  I think I will leave it alone and won’t edit…)

I will still listen to Rachel Maddow – she doesn’t rant and rave – and to Bill Maher and Vice on HBO for the WOW factor of crazy shithouse rat political machinations, which are nothing if not entertaining.

Politics to me is a voyeuristic sport, like professional football; something I have absolutely no power or ability to influence.   But, just because I am not capable of participating on any meaningful level does not mean that I don’t find it entertaining.     I just don’t need to get wound up over something I can not control.

Spring is coming to western Maine, the daffodils are up and it is a beautiful overcast day.   I am going to have cereal and blueberries for breakfast this morning while we watch Rachel Maddow’s program that we taped last night.

Have a good day

IOWA - FIRST IN THE NATION

COGITO ERGO SUM

Hear we are almost two years away from a Presidential election and the news reporters are already starting to talk about Iowa.   As far as the Democratic Party is concerned I don’t understand why they don’t just blow off Iowa and not show.

Iowa is one of those mid-western states that live in a time warp.   If you were unfortunate enough to sit through the movie Nebraska, then you have an understanding of the culture in Iowa.   This is a culture that views all non-white people who live in cities and coastal areas with suspicion and distrust.  They are corn fed farmers and people that support the farming industry that don’t understand a multi-cultural society and don’t want to understand.   They are Christians by inheritance and critical by culture.

Policies don’t matter to the Corn Belt voters – their minds are made up.   Education doesn't matter; because, like throughout the deep south, you can have graduated from high school and even a university and still be scientific and culturally illiterate.

Doesn't mean they are bad people - just entrenched in mid-twentieth century culture.

Just my opinion

A BUZZARD EGG OMELET #25

“The enemy (crisis) of the moment always represented absolute evil.”
1984 by George Orwell

The new crisis of the day is the health care roll-out.   Everyone’s bowels are in an uproar: both Democrats and Republicans.  But, just like the government shutdown, a few weeks (or months) from now the roll-out debacle will be old news and not worth a comment even by late night comedians.

Of the thirty five percent of the nation that bother to vote: fifty percent of the voters are Democrats; twenty-two percent of the voters are moderate Republicans; and twenty-eight percent of the voters are evangelical Christian retards.  The politicians we have elected are a mirror image of the voters and will again create the next government debacle that will keep us awake at night and our blood pressures elevated – if we allow it.

A little Buddhist perspective: change the things that are in your power to change - accept the things you can not change – and move on.   We would be much happier if we turned off the news and were politically ignorant.  Of course, in this day of technology that is almost impossible.

AWAY FROM POLITICS:

I just picked up a new book A Freudian Slip Is When You Say One Thing But Mean Your Mother, by Gary Blake.

If you enjoy PUNS – often noted as the lowest form of humor – I suggest you can o-pun this book to any page and find a phrase you wish you had coined first.    Of course if you are Rand Paul it won’t matter: you will use it anyway and claim it as yours.

THERE IS NO HOPE

We liberals keep hoping for the miracle that will not happen.   First of all miracles are not real: You can not turn a pumpkin into a coach; you can not turn a frog into a prince and you can not twang your magic twanger and turn water into wine.

We live in a world of hard physical laws that we refer to as science, and yet we keep expecting the impossible.

Probably fifty percent of the people living on this earth are bone ignorant and at least thirty percent are bat-shit religious crazies, and that number is not going to change – if anything it is increasing.     At one time the really ignorant people were kept hidden by their families, but now they run for public office.

In my last post ELECTION 2013, John Oliver highlighted Australians running for public office and made the comparison with our 2012 candidates on the Republican ticket.

One woman running for office stated that Islam was a country and their people were followers of Huran law; and under Huran law Jews had their own religion that worshiped Jesus Christ.

You can’t make this up…the woman is obviously a moron, and she doesn't hold the patent on that condition.

Here in America we have no room to mock the Australians since we had an entire Republican candidateship that proudly proclaimed disbelief if Darwinism and global warming.   For the most part they are flat earth people that believe the world is six thousand years old.

These are supposed to be our elite – our top choice of people to run our country.  And even scarier: they are smarter than the people who vote for them.

I sincerely believe that if it were possible to pole everyone in the United States at least half would be unable to answer basic questions of history, science, math and politics.   Uninformed these people are prone to believe outlandish propositions and are easily influenced and manipulated by political factions and religious leaders.   They have banded together under the Tea Party banner and are systematically taking over the government.   Truly, the inmates are now running the asylum.

The human race has been on this earth for a minuscule period of time and we are proving to be our own worst enemy.  We probably will not inherit this earth for long.   We have an over assessment of our own worth and our own place in nature.

Perhaps we liberals all need to lower our expectations and not let politics, religion and stupid people upset our daily lives – because it is not going to change.

THE UNDECIDED VOTER

I watched the presidential debates last nights and was pleased with the President’s performance.  It seems he finally realized that a debate is a confrontation of ideas, and that just defending his own policies is not enough.

Throughout the debate the President had Romney on the ropes on every issue.   The combativeness of the President and the frustration of Romney reminded me of the final court scene in Inherit the Wind: the President often left Romney babbling in defense of his canned statements.   Toward the end I almost expected Romney to start naming the books of the Bible. But that is not my issue.

It seems that the panel was made up of undecided voters.   Now, one year into election politics, with 24-7 news coverage on the candidates and their policies, and with only three weeks before election it seems incredible to me that anyone could still be ‘undecided.’

Where have these people been: living in a cave?  Did they just come out of a comma or recover from a lobotomy?   Did they just wander away from their West Virginia church where they speak in tongs and dance with snakes; or escape from the front porch of their deep south home where their brother-grandpa-uncle-daddy forgot to keep an eye on them while they were playing Deliverance on their banjo?

If three weeks before the election you are still waiting for the dramatic sound bite to decide who you will vote for, then just don’t vote.  You are not informed.  You are a moron.  Just stay home on November 6 and watch reruns of Honey Boo Boo; because flipping a coin in the voting booth does not mean you are a responsible citizen.

THE WOEFUL STATUS OF AMERICAN EDUCATION - V

MY LAST WORD ON THIS SUBJECT (PERHAPS)

In prior post I have voiced my opinion on the negative results that politicians, school boards and watered down curriculum text have on our education system.   There is one other issue that has a pronounced effect on the outcome of a child’s education, and unfortunately it is a social effect that has no present solution.

Let me reemphasize that teacher’s training and performance is not the problem.   Teachers presently meet demanding standards, constant evaluation and continuing education requirements that ensure their competency.

However, having said this, all education content and societal beliefs of our teachers are not equal.   Teachers that matriculate through southern schools and southern colleges are extremely likely to carry religious beliefs into their classroom that conflict with hard factual information.

Religion is, and always has been the enemy of enlightenment and free thinking.

After retiring from teaching in Alaska, my wife and I moved to Kentucky, where we substituted in the local school system.   I took long term substitution positions in science, math and literature: generally the results of maternity leaves.

When teaching science and biology I was told not to cover the family tree of man (Australopithecus to Homo sapiens – the timeline of mankind.)   I was told that that was one of a number competing theories and that it was best not to deal with it as it would cause parents to complain.

Some of the teachers in the school kept Bibles on their desk; one of the teachers had a number of books entitled Chicken Soup for the Soul that she encouraged students to read; and at one high school assembly a Christian church group came in and gave a presentation on abstinence, complete with religious songs and Bible references.

It was not an unusual thing in Kentucky for students to wear tea-shirts asking What Would Jesus Do.

I also did a stent as president of Adult Literacy Council for the county.  One of the adult students was a Mexican named Jesus – the local community had refused to call him Jesus and so had nicknamed him Joe.

I could go on and on listing the instances of religious compromise permeating the education system of that county; but, I must state that the school was a reflection of the norm of the community in general.

The schools turned out students that were proficient in math, computer science and language arts.   The school also had an excellent shop program.

The points of failure for most southern and many mid-western school systems is the blatant deficiency in science, civics and social studies, as well as the development of critical thinking skills.   This is the results of religious influences in the community that interject themselves into the school curriculum - often through the teachers.

A BUZZARD EGG OMELET #13

I am a critical thinking person.  I have a math/science background.  I believe in logic, - cause and effect.   I even understand (to some extent) Chaos Theory.   But there is one thing in my everyday life that I am totally confused by: Gas Prices.

With a business model – a commodity – a grocery store buys a case of peas at wholesale price then figures out the percentage of markup necessary in order to guarantee their retail profit.  The can of peas is then placed on a shelf and sold at that price.

At a gas station the owner buys gas at a wholesale price.   He then figures the percent of markup in order to make a retail profit.   He then sets the price on the pump to resale the gas and extract his profit margin.  Then the next day he raises the price; and that evening he raises the price again; the next day he jumps the price a nickel higher; then the next day he lowers the price a penny:  What the hell is going on here?

If asked about this he may tell you that the next time he has to buy gas the product will cost more.   This doesn’t wash.   The grocery store does not change the price of peas daily in order to adjust to a possible icrease in wholesale pea prices at their next purchase.

We are told that the oil supply is plentiful.  We know that here in the US oil companies have wells capped and off line in order to regulate prices.   These oil companies pollute our environment, keep oil prices high, collect huge subsidies from the government and buy Senators and Congresspersons in order to slow and disrupt our move to clean, non-fossil fuel energy.   They are the most profitable companies that have ever existed on the face of the earth.

All that aside, what the hell is going on at the gas pump?
I’m just asking.

DANGER, DANGER, DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

The biggest threat to America is not al-Qaeda or Moslem fundamentalist or home grown terrorist: The biggest threat to American Freedom is the blatantly partisan United States Supreme Court.   The latest ruling of The Court allows police officers to conduct strip searches at their whim.   Along with all the other totalitarian rulings they have confirmed over the last decade that have eroded personal freedom and privacy, this last one moves our country further toward a police state.

The Republican Party, with their elite 1% base, their lunatic Tea Party fringe and fundamentalist Christian theocrats, have systematically tried to dismantle social programs and limit individual freedom of choice and privacy – while at the same time proposing religious restrictions that move our government toward a theocracy.   While picking and choosing the tenets of the Constitution they agree with they have blatantly ignored major articles and provisions that do not conform to their world view of big business and God centered governance.   They constantly threaten amendments to the Constitution that would drastically change our Republic for now and the future.

This is fine; the Republican Congressmen and Senators are duly elected by the people, and like the President have a right to their Political beliefs, and as such have a right to legislate their agenda.

However, here is the rub:  The Judicial branch is designed by the Constitution to be an impartial and non partisan watchdog that can bring extreme legislations from either party back to the central meaning and intent of the Constitution.   The Supreme Court should be the neutral body of government that guards the freedom and basic human rights of the individual.

Terrorist have the ability to only destroy limited targets within our population; but, the United States Supreme court has the ability to destroy a nation of free men and women and move our country toward a version of George Orwell’s 1884 – and this is the future that I fear.

And if some government agency is reading this, as according to the Supreme Court they have the authority to do:
I'm watching you
Watching me

A BUZZARD EGG OMELET #4

YOU DON'T LIKE MITT ROMNEY?
THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE.

According to Citizens United v Federal Election Commission, all corporations are viewed as persons – with all the financial rights to donate to campaigns as any individual.   Romney said that corporations are people.

I am just wondering:
If it can be determined that a corporation was conceived and born in the United States could we apply for a birth certificate, and if so could we run a corporation for President?

This would surely cut out the entire red tap.   Why nominate a proxy of big business for President?   Just go for the real thing.

EXXON MOBILE FOR PRESIDENT.

I AM NOT A CONSPIRACY THEORIST

BUT…

I am seventy-plus years old.   I have been around the block numerous times; and though I don’t think that age necessarily equates to intelligence – I can post an impressive resume.  And, the one thing I know for sure is: I don’t blindly trust our government to act in our best interest.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am a loyal American (of American ideals) – and I have the scars to prove it.  But, I don’t trust our government (politicians.)    Our government has never been a government of the people, by the people… etc.   It has always been the government of special interest and “the bigger picture” gamesmanship.

Our government constantly packages swamp land as “Preferred Real Estate Property” and sells it to the citizenry.   They tell us it’s candy but in the bottom of the box there is often a scorpion.

The last thing I blindly bought into was the liberation of the South Vietnamese people in the Vietnam war; only to discover that our real reason for occupying South Vietnam was to tactically establish a permanent nuclear military presence on the southern border of China (sounds familiar in reverse: Cuban missile crisis.)    Then, of course, “Iraqi Freedom” where a White House full of oil men invade a country with the second largest oil reserve on earth.

We have constantly been sold a bill of goods only to find that some patriotic spin name has been added to cover up the smell:  The Patriot Act – I need say no more.

We have moved from Bush’s “phone tapping of (only) foreign suspected terrorist”, to authorized surveillance of American citizens and to expanded surveillance authority for civilian police.  Now Obama has just signed an appropriations bill that allows the government to arrest and detain, without trial, any American citizen suspected of terrorist connections.   Obama says he will not use this authority, but what about a future fundamentalist, Tea Party, Republican President – what about a President Cheney clone?
Think about how this could fit in to George Orwell’s 1984 repackaged as 20XX.

Now there is a new government threat covertly aimed at taking the first step to control and censor the Internet.

On October 26, 2011 the Bill HR-3261 was introduced by Lamar Smith (R-TX.)   The bill is touted to prevent the piracy of U.S. copyrighted material.  The bill is commonly known as SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act.)  The actual title is “To Promote Prosperity, Creativity, and Innovation by combating the theft of U.S. property, and for other purposes."

It’s the - “and for other purposes,” - that bothers me.  At first glance the bill seems to require Internet providers to monitor customer’s traffic and block web sites suspected of copyright infringement.

But, the bill also states that it would make unauthorized streaming of copyright material a crime with a maximum imprisonment of 5 years for ten infringements within six months.

That has me nailed; and probably everyone reading this blog who include pictures or YouTube clips on your post.  This is an open invitation to some political regime of the future to use the NSA or FBI to monitor web sites and blogs that they feel are not in the best interest of Big Brother and shut you down; or to threaten or actually imprison people that speak out.    (Does anybody still remember the First Amendment to the Constitution?)

The internet should not be the property of any government and no government should have the right to censor it “for the greater good” of its people.

I AM NOT AMUSED

Excerpt from: TIMELINE, by Michael Crichton.

“Everybody expects to be entertained, and they expect to be entertained all the time.   Business meetings must be snappy, with bullet list and animated graphics, so executives aren’t board.   Malls and stores must be engaging, so they amuse as well as sell us.   Politicians must have pleasing video personalities and tell us only what we want to hear.   Schools must be careful not to bore young minds that expect the speed and complexity of television.   Students must be amused – everyone must be amused, or they will switch: switch brands, switch channels, switch parties, switch loyalties.   This is the intellectual reality of western society at the end of the century… The great fear is not of disease or death, but of boredom.   A sense of time on our hands, a sense of nothing to do.   A sense that we are not amused.”

Crichton not only writes a great story in TIMELINE, but between the lines are truisms that jump out at you if you read carefully.

Look at today’s Republican Presidential caucuses – very few people are interested in the actual policies, and the future results these policies would have on the nation at large.   People hear only what they want to hear, and they will switch if their candidate is not amusing.

Regardless of Democrat or Republican; any politician that dares deal with the dry, realistic, real politics of a party, without amusing, is dead in the water.

Dead in the water: Along with that line of thought – by all means read Crichton’s EATERS OF THE DEAD (later repackaged as THE 13th. WARRIOR.)

Buffett's Solution: Term Limits

I received this in an e-mail from a friend (yes - i do have a friend)  and damn if it doesn't sound right to me.  I have always said (and posted) that term limits on Congress would be the way to insure the elected worked for the country and not for their own re-election.

Buffett's solution

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the best

quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just pass a law

that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all

sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. The 26th

amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months

& 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in

1971...before computers, e-mail, cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to

the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the

land...all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to a minimum of

twenty people on their address list; in turn ask each of those to do

likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the

message. This is one idea that really should be passed around.

*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*

1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman collects a salary while in office

and receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All

funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security

system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system,

and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for

any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans

do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay

will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the

same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American

people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective

1/1/12.

The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen

made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor,

not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours

should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take

three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Maybe it is

time.

HE' BACK

Well hell, for what it’s worth the Ol’Buzzard is back.

Perhaps it's what all bloggers go through – like mid-blog crisis – it seems you’ve said it all and it’s a repeat of the same old shit. You’re sick of the same political crap – it just rehashes and becomes the same theme with different names. Nothing changes and nothing is going to change.

Facts we must live with:

1) All senators and congresspersons are primarily interested in reelection – the only way to truly move the government toward serving the people would be TERM LIMITS…and it ain’t going to happen. Just as there is a test for teachers, lawyers and doctors, there should be a test for political office – most would never pass it.

2) Education is the only way to seriously address the long term unemployment crisis – and the government doesn’t have a clue how to do it. If you truly want to know how to effectively educate the population: ask a teacher. A one size fits all policy and standards for a diverse population is ludicrous. However, government will never relinquish education to the educators – it is to good of a platform to run for reelection on. (never end a sentence with a preposition – fuck it.)

3) One half of the American population falls on the back side of the intellectual bell curve, and one quarter of the population is functional but borderline retarded.

4) Education credentials are not an indicator of intelligence: look at the Republican Presidential candidates.

5) Religion is the archenemy of civilization: It is the base of almost all intolerance and bigotry. Religion would choose to move civilization backwards toward the dark ages and away from science and enlightenment.

6) Gender equality doesn’t exist. Males and females are two alien creatures that must exist in a symbiotic relationship; but, we don’t have the same aggressive tendencies, the same emotions, the same physical abilities, the same sex drives, the same outlooks or the same priorities.

7) Growing old doesn’t suck. It is just the expectation of disability and death that sucks. The main problem with growing old is that young women don’t want to fuck you any more.

I DON’T CARE

I’m sick of it!

I’m tired of hearing about it.

Fuck the debt limit.

There is nothing I can do about it.

I voted Democrat.

Our party lost.

I’d vote third party,

But it’s throwing away my vote.

There is no sanity left.

Perhaps there never was.

We stumble along,

The blind leading the blind.

The asylum has been seized

The inmates are in charge

Chaos rules the day

Accept what can’t be changed

We are all along for the ride

The lunatics drive the bus

The destination is nowhere

Then we’ll go somewhere else

You put your right foot out

You put your right foot in

You put your right foot out

And you shake it all about

You do the hokey-poky

And you turn yourself around

That’s what it’s all about.
