SCARIER THAN THE CORONA VIRUS!

Trump does not have to be reelected….  In October he will declare a National Health Emergency and delay elections until 2021.

There was concern whether Trump would leave if he lost the election; now the fear is real.    I predict he will try to postpone the election this November.

Please tell me I am wrong!

  1. No, that thought has already crossed my mind. The last time that power was invoked was for FDR in WW2, if I remember my history correctly. I suspect exactly that will happen.

  2. And what political party was FDR the leader of?

  4. I've been thinking this exact thing for several months. The coronavirus is the perfect storm for him to delay the election! And, he is already setting the stage by using words like "war", "war time president" and "we are at war".

  5. Nope.
    1. He has no power to do it even if he called out Martial Law. Only the House and Senate can cancel the election and we know that won't happen because of the democratic controlled House.
    2. The President and Vice President terms expire on the 20th of Jan according to the 20th Amendment. At which time the House Speaker will take control if necessary.
If all else fails it would be up to the States lawmakers to decide voting and when or it could be up to the Electorate.
