THE CONSEQUENCE OF LEGALIZING POT

Mother Nature has gotten fucked-up in Colorado and is sending a storm headed toward Maine.  For over a week the day time temperatures have been around zero and night temps ten to fifteen below.   Temps today are rising into the teens and tonight the storm rides in beginning with sleet and freezing rain and turning to all rain as the temps soar to the mid-forties on Monday.   By Monday night the storm will have passed and temperatures will drop back into the low teens and single numbers with below zero night temps.

The only explanation I can see is Mother Nature got stoned in Colorado.

  2. A lot of people have suffered and have their lives derailed because of the out of control illogic and hysteria of the American Justice System's policies on marijuana.Myself included. As the token white conservative of The NYTimes editorial staff pointed out in his patrician piece last week, rich kids can get away with anything...he did, but if you are poor and get busted, well, it's your fault if you end up in prison. That said, I don't smoke pot...I don't smoke period....My main objection to smoking pot is the nasty health problems...emphysema, lung cancer....that I have seen in friends who have been long time chronic users. But, I have a buddy, who is a fellow blogger who informs me that there is a new device that delivers the benefits with out the nasty smoke...something called The Vaporizor...if his writing quality on his blog is any indication, it seems to work pretty good. Perhaps, here in France, once they see the tax revenue numbers from Colorado and Washington State, they might reconsider their hard line on marijuana...after all, they claim to be discouraging tobacco smoking, yet tobacco farming is still subsidized...There are many farmers around here who rotate corn and tobacco on their land each year. Tobacco drying barns are a classic kind of rural architecture here...The kicker is, cigarettes now cost 6 Euros a pack...that would be about 8 bucks US....if you go to Spain or Belgium, the cost is only 2 Euros a pack...so the government is making a healthy tax profit....and to sell cigarettes in France, you have to have a license....I am getting emails from friends in the Midwest of the USA informing me about the weather...it's on the news here...I am very lucky...I live on to of a hill, so I don't worry about floods, that's what is happening here...non stop rain. It's actually unseasonably temperate. I'm just afraid that when the cold really hits here this winter, the plants will have set buds...that happened a few years ago and it was a disaster!
