EXERCISE BIKE

This time of year it is hard to get to the gym with sub-freezing temperatures, snow storms, ice storms and the general laziness that winter brings on.

My wife has wanted an exercise bike, but shopping locally I found them more expensive that we could justify.    However, on E-Bay I found a new EXERPUTIC 900XL extended capacity recumbent bike with and electronic readout for $165.00 and free shipping.

I was a little leery about ordering something unseen, but placed the order using PayPal, which gives a guarantee.

The bike came in within a week by UPS.  It took about two hours to assemble (the assembly is not difficult if you can read and follow fairly explicit instructions – all tools are included.)

We have had this bike now for one month and my wife loves it.   It is well constructed and performs as advertised.

If anyone is interested in a reasonably priced exercise bike you might want to take a look at this one.

  1. Actually I tend to be quite good at looking. Seriously, I could use one of these but can't even afford what you all paid. We do have a couple of bikes in the exercise room here in the apts but they are not recumbent. These are really easy on your knees so I can see why your wife likes it.

  2. I have a smilar-looking model from NordicTrac that I paid too much for when I got a tax refund some years ago. It makes a nice holder for my exercise ball, and I can roll up my yoga mat to fit across the handlebars. I seem to remember that it provides an adequate workout, too....

  3. Actually a very good price for this machine. I still have my Trek Magnetic resistance trainer I bought in the 90's....I have it set up in the barn. I rode a bike almost every day of my life for over 50 years and I still do. I yearn for the flat landscape of Ohio and New City...Here the hardest part of any bike trip is the first 2 kilometers through the hills after I leave my house. Then I'm okay...I just have to dress right for the winter. I always wear too many layers and have to shed some when I get going. One of oldest friends is 74 and still doing over 200 kilometers or more a week in NYC...He wiped me out a few months ago when I visited him in his native environment in Perugia, Italy. Just getting up the hilltop to old Etruscan center of Perugia will kill a normal man...Enzo breezed up, I wheezed up.

  4. btw, cycling might seem like a masochistic endeavor, but it is one of the very best things you can do for yourself. Cyclist live longer, it's a fact! I just saw a news item here on French television about a 100 year old avid cyclist...the guy was going strong and looked better than many people I have known when the were in their 50's. Another of my health hints...SING! Who cars who you annoy...Singing is such good therapy, good for the lungs, good for the moral, good for creativity...I love finding out who else I know likes to sing. SING! LOUD! The more you do it, the better you get!
