DST

If you don’t change your watch on 3-11-18 and you get up at 7:30 a.m. it’s not 7:30 but 8:30 because 7:30 came at 6:30, and if you have an appointment between midnight and 1 a.m. on 3-11-18 you are screwed, because from 12:01 am to 12-59 a.m. does not existed.

But, on 10-03-18 if you make an appointment for 11:30 p.m. you have your choice, because there are two of them.

Does that straighten it out?

  1. I think I got it. No. Maybe. Can you repeat that one more time?

  2. Spring forward, fall back & if you're late (or early)...oh well!
Actually back in 69 or 70 I was late for something because I forgot to change the clock. Today most of my time pieces are hooked to the internet & they do an ok job taking care of themselves. I have an battery operated analog wall clock & the digital clock in the car that need manual adjusting, the computer & phone take care of themselves.
The wristwatch ($10 from Walmart) lives in a drawer and will be adjusted on those rare times it gets taken out to be used.

  3. Why can't they just leave it alone? There are probably a few dozen bureaucrats whose jobs depend on DST.

COMMENT: Ben Franklin said, "I imagine a man must have a good deal of vanity who believes, and a good deal of boldness who affirms, that all doctrines he holds are true, and all he rejects are false."
