As Kulkuri said, a religious person is afraid of going to hell. A spiritual one has already been there.Bupu2https://www.blogger.com/profile/01631343277816040695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855180793926350647.post-22154656104911637622011-09-19T12:02:01.072-04:002011-09-19T12:02:01.072-04:00S'all about CONTROL, O.B.. Arrogance of the highest order.

BTW, Kurkuri, I have had that very thought on occasion regards Robertson, et al.jadedjhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16569736113526368917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855180793926350647.post-17302792044665472962011-09-17T08:54:43.222-04:002011-09-17T08:54:43.222-04:00There are times when I wish there really was a HEL...There are times when I wish there really was a HELL complete with hellfire and brimstone for the likes of Falwell, Robertson, and all the crazy sky pilots of their ilk. It would only be fitting for them to suffer for eternity for all the suffering they caused during their lifetime.
I've heard that religion is for those that are afraid of going to HELL.

What's interesting is how the perception of the afterlife has changed. If I remember right from my Lutheran confirmation classes, you would go up to heaven after the Second Coming of HeyZues. Now it's instantaneous and all of the dear departed are sitting up there looking down on what we are doing. But usually people only say that if they think the dear departed would be pleased with whatever activity is happening.Kulkurihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09198195648066700925noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5855180793926350647.post-23329901851636290532011-09-17T03:45:42.506-04:002011-09-17T03:45:42.506-04:00Have you read Mark Twain's Captain Stormfield&...Have you read Mark Twain's Captain Stormfield's Journey to Heaven? Best satire on Heaven I ever read. Why do preachers always try to comfort people about the fate of the dead person? Shouldn't they try to comfort those left behind? There are scriptures for that but they rarely read them. And many preachers use the captive audience for a hellfire and brimstone repent ye all sermon. I hate those with a passion. No respect for either the living or the dead. The Blog Fodderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11441978691701289074noreply@blogger.com
