WHY BLUE COLLAR WORKERS DON’T VOTE DEMOCRAT

QUIT CALLING THEM STUPID!

This morning on a news program, there was a discussion about the Democratic Autopsy of the 2024 election.  Someone made the distinction between “educated voters” and “voters without a college education.”   The connotation comes off as ‘smart people vs stupid people.’

I cringe every time I hear this comparison made by a democratic proponent.

I didn’t go to college until I was forty-two years old.   Had I heard a comment like that during my twenty-two years as an enlisted man in the military, I would have said; Fuck those conceited bastards – and on that basis alone would have voted Republican.

Why would a blue-collar voter vote for a party that considers them as the dumber portion of the electorate?

  1. I didn't go to college until I was thirty one years old. Lost everything I had during Regan's first term. I was married and had two children and I worked full time and attended school full time. Graduated when I was thirty five. So yeah, fuck that.

Thing is I voted for Reagan in 1980. I learned a very hard and valuable lesson

  2. I only had some College that Employers paid for and I don't consider Non-College Educated stupid. However, I do think that our Educational System is churning out Young People who are poorly Educated and that can make someone vulnerable if they are Uneducated or Poorly Educated and can be exploited and conned if they lack Critical Thinking. It's why this vile President said he Loved the Uneducated. Easier to Manipulate, Con and Weaponize. My Dad only received the equivalent of a Grade School Education at the Indian Boarding Schools. My Maternal Grandfather was illiterate since Roma didn't send their Children to School in his Era, but he could speak several Languages and was great at what he did for a Living, my Dad also. I just wish we put more emphasis in providing a really good Education for all our Children in this Country. I still don't understand why most Blue Collar folks would vote Republican since that Party has always looked out for the Rich/Elite. Most Social Programs were passed by Democrats. I'm not Non-Partisan, I'm Anti-Partisan, I do think that's what's wrong with Politics, Party Loyalty becomes rather cultish and tribal in Nature... and both sides always mud sling and blame each other rather than working cooperatively on what is best for the Country and the People, so that things actually get done. Thanks for allowing me the mini Rant, I'm so frustrated with how America is devolving right now, I'm concerned about the Future our Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren will inherit.
